An Afternoon on Richmond Green

It's funny how things turn out!

Fundraising is an ongoing headache for all charities, and we need all the help we can get, fitting it in around our jobs.

But we know this great lady called Pauline, who knows a wonderful man she met in a pub, who happens to be the head gardener at a beautiful mansion with acres of stunning, manicured gardens, whose boss is a Baroness who arranges garden parties in support of various causes.

Somehow, the gardener approached the Baroness and we were invited to put up our stall on the lawn.
Through the warm and heady afternoon a steady stream of Baroness's guests drifted by to ask about REDEARTH and many made donations, and supported our sponsored Bike Ride with sponsorship.
We also ran a raffle with highly desirable prizes, ranging from exotic potted plants donated by the gardener, to dinner for 2 in an excellent pub, The Waterman's Arms in Richmond and weekends away in either Shropshire or Swanage!

It was a lovely afternoon on the 6th of June.
Three irresistible children, led by Georgina the Great & not-to-be-denied, politely but firmly rattled our collecting tin under the noses of everyone they met, and succeeded in filling the tin.

REDEARTH is lucky to have friends like Pauline, Pat and John who were there with us for this event, helping us to put up the display and chat to the visitors.
We are very grateful to the owner of the house for giving us this opportunity by inviting us to the garden party.

Now, while I still have your attention, take a look at the REDEARTH EDUCATION Justgiving page. There is a whole bunch of people riding with us on 27th June, London to Oxford, looking for sponsors, Lynne and me included; my page is www.justgiving.com/Ronnie-Katzler

Thanks for looking us up. I'll let you know how we got on after the ride.
